A group of about 100 London high school students got some first-hand construction experience this week while lending a hand to help with London's response to homelessness.

For three days, students from three different high schools helped build three temporary shelters in a partnership with Fanshawe College's construction engineering technology program.

The schools sent students to work under the direction of Fanshawe instructors in partnership with the London and District Construction Association (LDCA) at the Level Up! Career Fair.

The students took the eight by 12 foot shelters through each stage of construction, from framing and siding to electrical and flooring.
