NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Now that the government is back open, many federal workers in Tennessee and beyond are wondering when they’ll get paid.
A plan from the Trump administration says that federal employees who have gone without pay for 43 days could get checks as early as Friday or as late next Wednesday, November 19. The differing dates are based on the agency and existing payroll schedules.
Most of the first post-shutdown paychecks to employees will only include pay from October 1 through November 1 and will only distribute their base pay, leaving out any bonuses, overtime or benefits.
But those details differ by agency, and some of those benefits will be paid in later checks.
For example, the U.S. Army and staffers at the Defense Department will get overtime and hazard pay. But
