The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Activity (BCA) is investigating a police "use-of-force incident" in Bagley.
An alert went out just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, as investigators and BCA agents were actively on the scene, about a half hour west of Bemidji.
Preliminary reports suggest shots were fired following a police chase, as a Clearwater County sheriff’s deputy attempted to apprehend a suspect at a local gas station.
Local newspaper the Farmers Independent reports that the Clearwater County Sheriff's Department, Bagley Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and White Earth Tribal Police were on the scene behind a Family Dollar store around 1 p.m. Thursday.
The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Department is expected to provide an update Friday morning.
