CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Hough Multipurpose Center hosted another food drive Thursday as families continue waiting for SNAP benefits to fully return following a government shutdown.

Pasta, applesauce, potatoes, turkey and a host of other foods filled shelves as the center transformed into a temporary grocery store for several hours.

The drive was organized by the FAMICOS Foundation in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

“Many food pantries that give to those in need, they’re a huge help, they’re a huge support,” said Marclin Crosby.

Crosby was among dozens who attended the drive. He said the assistance represents more than just food.

“Hope, love, and also it’s a blessing,” Crosby said. “As a community we all have to stick together.”
