SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Quick thinking from a Valley realtor not only helped save a Scottsdale homeowner from possibly losing his home but also put those allegedly involved in the scheme behind bars.
“These people are stealing the deed, pretending to be the owners. They’re getting these homes,” said John Rowan.
Rowan, a Valley realtor, got an interesting call from a woman who claimed her female friend had recently inherited a home and wanted to sell it.
“They needed to sell it quickly and it was a home that needed a lot of repair and things like that.”
The initial call wasn’t out of the ordinary, but things changed when Rowan went to check out the home for himself. There, he found a landscaper at the property who described the owner as a man, not a woman.
