TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The inaugural Garmin Marathon Tucson is set to take over the city's streets, bringing excitement but also significant traffic changes. Motorists are advised to use caution on roads as thousands of runners are expected to hit the pavement.
Taking place on Nov. 15, the event will feature a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K, all starting at the downtown Start/Finish Line on Congress Street west of Granada Avenue. Most race activities, including traffic restrictions, are expected to end by 1:30 p.m., while the half marathon, 10K and 5K are anticipated to conclude by 11:30 a.m.
The Tucson Police Department, Pima County Sheriff's Department and University of Arizona Police Department will manage traffic and race safety.
