[LINN COUNTY, Iowa] — The trial of Luke Truesdell, charged with four counts of murder, continued on Thursday with closing arguments presented to the jury.

Truesdell stands accused of using a metal pipe to fatally beat four victims in an outbuilding in rural Marion last year.

During closing statements, the prosecution emphasized that Truesdell directed responding officers to the location of the murder weapon at the crime scene.

The defense, however, urged the jury to question a particular aspect of the case.

"The million-dollar question, why is there no blood on Luke? I don't mean no blood, obviously here's two specs. But why isn't there a whole lot more?" Patrick McMullen, attorney for Truesdell, said.
