BOSTON —
Charlie DeLoach, the jury foreman from Karen Read's second trial , said at an event at Fisher College Thursday afternoon the outcome might have been different if the charges had been different.
DeLoach said he was more surprised than anyone he was even selected to be on the jury.
"You knew a little bit about the case going in but you kind of played dumb because you didn't want to get picked? And did that serve you? Or did that serve the prosecution and defense?" Casey Sherman, a New York Times and USA Today No. 1 best-selling true crime author, asked during a Q-and-A session.
"It backfired on me because I was the first one picked," DeLoach said.
He described growing up in Boston public housing during the 80s and 90s and said he was often stopped and harassed by police.
