CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Every week, cornerback DJ Turner texts Cincinnati Bengals cornerbacks coach Charles Burks.

“He wants to know who’s the best receiver so he can go over there,” Burks said. “He wants the challenge.”

Turner has always had that confidence that he can take away any receiver in the NFL. Most cornerbacks do. You can’t play the position at a consistent level unless you can get yourself to believe that you can beat any receiver on any snap.

Few cornerbacks, though, actually reach that level. Turner is there right now, making him the only bright spot on the Bengals’ defense.
