CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Guardians announced the hiring of Tony Arnerich as the club’s Bench Coach for the 2026 season.
Arnerich will replace Craig Albernaz who was hired as manager of the Baltimore Orioles.
Arnerich spent the last nine seasons in Seattle with the Mariners, serving as Hitting Coach (2022-23) and Bullpen Coach and Catching Instructor (2024-25), replacing Stephen Vogt when he was hired as Guardians’ manager.
Prior to joining Seattle’s ML staff, Arnerich spent two seasons as their Minor League Field and Catching Coordinator (2020-21) and three years as the organization’s Assistant Hitting Coordinator/Catching Coordinator (2017-19).
