Pearl Police say a brief pursuit of a vehicle tied to a felony shoplifting case ended safely Thursday after officers executed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) on Frontage Road near the I-20/I-55 interchange in Jackson.

According to the department, the driver—Angela Vanderburg, of Meridian—refused to stop after officers attempted a traffic stop inside Pearl city limits. The TVI brought the vehicle to a controlled stop, and officers took Vanderburg into custody without further incident.

Police said Vanderburg faces charges of felony fleeing, possession of burglary tools, felony shoplifting, and felony possession of a controlled substance. A passenger, Nicholas Luckett, of Jackson, was also arrested on outstanding Hinds County felony warrants related to weapons violations.
