The longest government shutdown in U.S. history has ended , but the recovery process is ongoing as federal workers and agencies deal with delayed payments and disrupted services.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced $10,000 bonuses for some TSA officers who displayed exemplary service by “stepping up, taking on extra shifts, showing up each and every day, and serving the American people.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the federal workforce continues to wait for back pay . Kevin Hasset, National Economic Council director, said, "I think that the payments will come probably next week."
