A man has been blasted by military veterans for allegedly dressing up as a Rear Admiral during a Remembrance Sunday ceremony.

Referred to as a supreme "Walter Mitty figure", the man was seen wearing a Royal Navy uniform decorated with medals as he attended the event, claiming to represent the Lord Lieutenant's Office.

The imposter was present at the Remembrance Sunday service in Llandudno, Conwy, where he was captured on camera saluting at the war memorial and laying a wreath during the event.

Investigations by North Wales Live have revealed the man previously appeared in a Rear Admiral's uniform at Remembrance Sunday ceremonies in Caernarfon, Gwynedd.

The Royal Navy said impersonating a Naval officer was "insulting to veterans".
