GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Students at Annie Jackson Elementary School in Green Bay look to provide warmth to the community during the colder months.

The 4th graders wrapping trees at Colburn Park with homemade knit scarves for the second year.

The 61 scarves were donated and knitted by a local retired nurse with tags that say: “Cold? Please take this scarf with love from a Jackson Elementary Friend.”

“It makes me happy, they get a feel of community and that there are people that are less fortunate than they are, and you’re welcome, and makes me happy and to come out and see it makes me even happier,” said scarf knitter Linda Bielefeldt Saugstad.
