BILLINGS, Mont. – ZooMontana shared difficult news about two beloved animals, Gizmo the prehensile-tailed skink and Colonel Sanders the rooster, who have both recently passed away.

Gizmo, born at Brookfield Zoo in December 2020, joined ZooMontana in 2021. He was a cherished ambassador for his species, visiting schools and organizations in Billings. Despite the dedicated efforts of the ZooMontana team, Gizmo's health declined and he was humanely euthanized.

“We’re deeply saddened by this loss and ask for your kindness and understanding as we search for answers,” said ZooMontana.
