Reds add pitching help from Pirates

The Cincinnati Reds finished the 2025 season strong. They're looking to take a step forward in 2026.

They made an addition Thursday to help that cause.

The Reds have hired Oscar Marin as their new bullpen coach, the team announced.

Marin has been with the Pittsburgh Pirates since 2020, serving as their bullpen coach for six seasons.

The Reds had an opening in that role because Matt Tracy has moved into the assistant pitching coach spot. Last season's assistant pitching coach, Simon Matthews, was hired by the Washington Nationals as their new pitching coach.

Marin's coaching career began with the Texas Rangers in 2010. He served throughout their minor league levels for seven years.
