GRAND FORKS – District leaders emphasized the importance of community support in their “attendance matters” campaign at the Grand Forks School District Breakfast and Community Report.

At the event, held Thursday at the Alerus Center, Grand Forks educators, staff and students were celebrated, but the main focus was on the ongoing attendance campaign in the district.

“Attendance is still an issue in the Grand Forks community,” said Jessica Sporbert, the multi-tiered systems of support coordinator. “And we all need to work together to figure out ‘how can we help those students that are still chronically absent enter our building every day and be prepared to learn?’”
