OTTAWA—Canada’s national security relationship with the Donald Trump-led U.S. is “very strong” and remains in our best interest, says the head of Canada’s top spy agency, as he outlined rising global threats in a rare public address and news conference Thursday.

Asked whether trade tensions with the White House or controversial policies, like the Trump administration’s deadly strikes on alleged drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean, are affecting Canada’s intelligence sharing with the Americans, Canadian Security Intelligence Service director Daniel Rogers said the relationship remains “trusted.”
