Paul Finebaum didn’t exactly respond to reports that he’s “very close” to leaving ESPN for politics.
Front Office Sports , citing sources, is reporting Finebaum is considering a run for the U.S. Senate as a Republican in Alabama.
The news was first revealed in an interview with Clay Travis of OutKick .
When reached for a comment on the report, Finebaum told AL.com he is “more than happy to talk about the Auburn coaching search.”
According to the Front Office Sports, the SEC Network analyst, per sources, is waiting until after the college football season wraps up to make a decision.
Finebaum’s contract through mid-2027.
Last month, Finebaum said he was seriously considering a political run .
