JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville will ring in the season with a new look for downtown.
The city announced the new Riverfront Plaza at the old Landing site will have a soft opening the same night as the Jacksonville Light Boat Parade.
A First Coast News crew got a sneak peek behind the chain-linked curtain Thursday and was joined by City Council Member Joe Carlucci and his family.
"Then I went down the slide and I was like, freaking out," said JoJo Carlucci after getting a look at the playground for the first time.
JoJo went right for the tallest slide at Riverfront Plaza, which launched him as the park as a whole launches Downtown Jacksonville into a new era.
