Passersby at the Lakewood Towne Center mall may have been stumped by a bizarre succession of images, many involving Charlie Kirk, that appeared on an electronic billboard on Tuesday.

The billboard usually displays advertisements for the stores inside the mall, but on Tuesday, it lit up with several politically charged, if not ambiguous, memes. One featured Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was shot and killed, about to kiss rapper XXXTentacion, who was also shot and killed.

Other images depicted Kirk kissing a cartoon character, a YouTuber’s reaction of an Albanian military parade, and references to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-Israel lobbying group known as AIPAC.
