WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) - Thanksgiving came early for anybody and everybody who took advantage of a community dinner Thursday evening in Waterville.

The Alfond Youth and Community Center has been putting on their free community dinner for over a century.

Staff say it’s grown and grown and the kitchen was ready for up to 1,500 plates to serve the community this year.

The meal was free to everyone, all you had to do was show up and have a freshly cooked Thanksgiving feast.

Those who put together take pride in not only serving a meal, but a special one.
