SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - South Bend Saint Joe will host Hobart in regionals on Friday night after claiming the program’s 11th sectional title last week.
The Huskies defeated three-time defending sectional champion Mishawaka 13-7 to earn their first sectional championship since 2015. Saint Joe enters the regional round with an 11-1 record in what has been one of the program’s best seasons in recent years.
The winner of Friday’s game advances to semi-state competition, putting the Huskies two wins away from the state championship round.
While reflecting on the sectional victory, senior left tackle Nick Ortiz said the team had targeted Mishawaka since his freshman year.
