TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - As the federal government officially reopens after weeks of shutdown, Tucson is experiencing ongoing impacts, particularly at Tucson International Airport and in the distribution of SNAP benefits.
Flights at Tucson International are still facing some delays. Tucson Airport Authority President Danette Bewley explained the situation.
"We still have some cancellations scheduled over the next week," Bewley said.
Bewley attributed the cancellations to 40 major airports reducing flights by 10 percent last Friday due to air traffic controller shortages. With the government now reopened, operations are showing signs of improvement.
