U.S. Border Patrol agents are set to descend on Charlotte , North Carolina , as soon as this weekend, a sheriff’s office said Thursday.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, which covers the city, said that federal officials had contacted Sheriff Garry L. McFadden to give him the heads-up about the operation, according to a news release shared with Newsweek .
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it could not comment on future operations when contacted by Newsweek Thursday afternoon.
