The body of a man who jumped into a Texas river to rescue his son and his son's friend after their kayak overturned has been found.

In an email to PEOPLE, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department confirmed that William Poff, 53, of Camilla, Texas, was found deceased and was recovered from the Trinity River on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The two boys also died.
