MOORHEAD — The Moorhead Spuds football team has taken the road "most" traveled this season to earn a trip to U.S. Bank Stadium.

The team has played on the road in seven of 11 games, facing opponents who aren’t crosstown rivals. With the jump to the Class 6A this season, they have had to play teams exclusively from the Twin Cities.

"It's kind of unprecedented territory for every one of us," said head coach Kevin Feeney.

Moorhead's travel this season has been unbelievable, with seven road games averaging a 450-mile round trip each time.

"I looked up one time on MapQuest ... we could have driven to Fort Myers (Fla.) and back, and we still wouldn't have gone as many miles as we have so far this season," Feeney said.
