While the promise of another team-up between Godzilla and Kong leaves a lot to look forward to, that's not the most thrilling partnership we could see in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova . So far, the King of the Monsters and the King of Skull Island have enjoyed two alliances in movie history, both within the last five years, courtesy of Godzilla vs. Kong and its 2024 sequel.

After being saved by Kong in Godzilla vs. Kong's ending , there was an impression that perhaps the two alpha Titans were no longer enemies. That notion was proven false when Godzilla renewed his battle with Kong when the latter stepped into what he percieves as his territory in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire .

Fortunately for Kong (and the world), Mothra's interference stopped Godzilla from making the kill
