OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A provision in the federal government funding bill will cap THC levels in hemp products sold nationwide, potentially forcing cannabis companies to remove most of their inventory from shelves.

The congressional funding bill puts a limit on all THC products, including gummies, vapes and drinks. Any item containing more than 0.4 milligrams of THC must be taken off the shelves.

Local businesses face inventory losses

Cannabis companies around Omaha are at risk of losing most of their product under the new restrictions.

“It would be ashamed to throw all of it away, or things like that, or whether they liquidate it,” said Christian Perez, an employee at 50 Shades of Green.

Perez said the provision could significantly impact their stock.
