The longest government shutdown in U.S. history has ended after 43 days. On Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2025, the House of Representatives approved funding legislation passed by the Senate on Sunday. Initially, lawmakers failed to reach an agreement on stopgap funding measures and negotiations regarding health care tax credits, resulting in government operations being impacted through payment delays, furloughs and workforce disruption.

However, the city of Albuquerque is reassuring residents in need regarding rental advice as well as food assistance while waiting for all to return to normal. The shutdown led to payment delays, furloughs, and workforce disruption, with hundreds of thousands of federal workers left in limbo.
