NEW DELHI: Danapur is set for a direct contest between BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav and RJD’s Rit Lal Roy as the constituency awaits the counting of votes on Wednesday. With polling complete and the fate of candidates sealed in the EVMs, Danapur remains one of the closely watched seats in Patna district. The constituency has a mixed urban–rural voter base and has witnessed frequent shifts in political preference over the past three decades. A poll of polls released on Tuesday suggested that the NDA could be heading towards forming the next government with around 148 seats.
