ALLEN COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - The Allen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a phone scam that led to one arrest.

According to the sheriff’s office, a resident received a phone call stating that a family member had been arrested and that they needed to pay nearly 20k to secure his bond and get him out.

They save several residents who have fallen victim to this scam and several others of a similar nature.

An investigation into the scam led to the arrest of 34-year-old Mary Saladin. She was lodged in the Allen County Detention Center and charged with theft by deception, including a cold check $10,000 or more.

Officials want people to know that their office at the jail will never call you to ask for money. The urge people to remain skeptical of all phone calls that are similar in nature.
