An Australian man has ambushed actress Ariana Grande at the red carpet premiere of Wicked: For Good on Thursday in terrifying viral footage.

The man, who was quickly identified as notorious red carpet crasher Johnson Wen, could be seen accosting Grande as she posed for photos at the screening event alongside her co-stars at Universal Studios.

Wen hastily lunged from the crowd at the actress and put his hand on the 32-year-old’s shoulder before wrapping his arms around her.

Grande looked visibly shocked and quickly tried to escape his hold.

As she struggled to break free, actress Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the musical fantasy films, rushed to the star’s aid.
