A part of a major roadway at the Jersey Shore is shut down Thursday night after a tractor-trailer hit a light pole, according to the Absecon Police Department.

The crash happened along Route 30 (White Horse Pike) at the intersection of Mill Road causing major traffic disruptions in the area on Nov. 13, police said.

A large tractor-trailer hit what police are calling "a light standard" and then allegedly fled the scene.

The truck was last seen going southbound on Mill Road toward Egg Harbor Township.
