EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office revealed their new Work Release Litter Patrol van.
They say the van is part of the Vanderburgh County Clean Streets Initiative, a program to help improve the community through service.
The van will be used to clean the streets of the county with Inmates under a work release completing community service hours picking up litter.
Sheriff Noah Robinson says the program addresses a community need.
“Our streets were looking pretty rough, and I got complaints from local business owners and larger companies complaining to me about how bad the trash problem was on our road ways, and I agree,” Sheriff Robinson says. “Bringing back this Litter Patrol and increasing it and making a more formalized will go a long way in keep our stre
