CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Brooks Sandwich House murder trial continued Thursday as prosecutors brought more law enforcement to the stand, outlining how they say evidence from search warrants to cell phone tower data ties defendants Terry Connor and Steven Staples to the 2019 killing of Scott Brooks.

Connor and Staples are charged with murder, kidnapping, and robbery in the death of Brooks, who was shot outside the family’s historic NoDa restaurant just before opening on Dec. 9, 2019.

Jurors were shown body camera video from a joint CMPD–Concord Police search warrant at a home investigators say Staples lived in with his wife. Detectives testified that the two-story home appeared furnished and lived-in, even though Staples listed a different address on his temporary ID.
