TRAVERSE CITY – As Northern Michigan continues to attract travelers from across the country, Cherry Capital Airport is preparing to compensate for the growth in tourism. Airport Director Kevin Klein says plans are underway to add a third terminal, a move that will reshape air travel, tourism, and the regional economy for the foreseeable future.

Over the past decade, passenger numbers at Cherry Capital Airport have seen a steady increase specifically during the summer months. Klein says the expansion will help reduce wait times, increase passenger capacity, and improve the overall efficiency of travel to and from Traverse City.
