Police detained a husband and wife soon after Maria Florinda Ríos Pérez was fatally shot on the porch of a Whitestown home she mistakenly thought she was supposed to clean, according to police radio transmissions broadcast that morning.
Just before dawn on Nov. 5, Ríos Pérez arrived at a home on Maize Lane in the Heritage subdivision. She was shot through the front door as she fumbled with a key ring, according to her husband, Mauricio Velázquez, who was with her.
The two-and-a-half minute recording of police scanner traffic was posted on social media by Fox59's Max Lewis on Nov. 13 . The transmissions aren't timestamped. It's unclear how much silence, if any, lapses between each radio transmission, and whether any transmissions have been redacted entirely.
