AURORA, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska Supreme Court is expected to rule Friday on an appeal from a Marquette man convicted of killing his wife.
Jeffrey Adams, 50, was sentenced to life in prison last year for first-degree murder in the February 2023 death of his wife Angela.
Court records show Adams’ attorney argued the following in his appeal:
That evidence of previous violent acts by Adams should not have been allowed at trial.
That the judge should have asked the jury to consider self-defense.
That Adams’ trial should have been moved to another county.
That the evidence presented did not justify a first-degree murder conviction.
In June 2024, a Hamilton County jury found Adams guilty after a week-long trial.
He was sentenced to life in prison in October 2024.
