TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - College athletics is evolving rapidly, and Arizona women's basketball is adapting by hiring Michelle Marciniak as its first general manager. This role is gaining popularity nationwide.

"It's a huge challenge and I absolutely love it," Marciniak said.

Marciniak, a former national champion at Tennessee under Hall of Fame coach Pat Summitt, now brings her winning experience to the Wildcats.

"I think if Pat Summit were here, she'd hire me," Marciniak said.

Nearly three decades later, Marciniak is making history with Arizona women's basketball.

"This whole money thing would drive her insane. This is not something she would want to use her brain space to worry about," Marciniak said.
