CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Carbondale Police arrested two juveniles while executing a search warrant connected to an armed robbery.

Officers say those two suspects were arrested on Wednesday on a warrant for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

The warrants issued for their arrest stem from a robbery on the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue on November 8.

In that incident, the victim told officers that a large group tried to rob him, and one of the suspects was armed with a gun.

Jared Gibbs, 18, and Clayton Macklin, 19, both of Carbondale, and a juvenile, were arrested during the investigation.

Investigators say that the suspects arrested on November 12 were released to family members since Juvenile Probation officials couldn’t find a facility in which to place the suspects.
