Hard hats and high-vis vests will be a common sight at the Burnie Health Hub until the middle of next year as work begins to bring other services to the site to complement the pathology lab that has been operating since July .

At full capacity, the health hub services will include pathology, a GP clinic, Laurel House, Women's Legal Service, Playgroup Tasmania, Family Planning Tasmania, a Medicare mental health service, Medical Imaging, allied health, a pharmacy, the Department for Education, Children and Young People and a cafe.

They also hope to open an urgent care clinic on-site, but are awaiting news from the federal government on whether they have won the tender.
