BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
A special honor is planned in Birmingham for former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute will honor Holder with the Fred L. Shuttlesworth Human Rights Award during its 33rd anniversary celebration later this year.
The prestigious award is given annually to leaders who display Shuttlesworth's courage, determination, and commitment to justice.
The institute's 33rd anniversary celebration is scheduled for Dec. 11 at the Sheraton Hotel.
