SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a firework thrown from a vehicle severely injured a man early on November 8, 2025.
Shortly after midnight, officers responded to reports of a loud noise near 2nd and Wall. Initial 911 calls suggested a possible shooting, but upon arrival, officers learned it was not a gunshot. The injured man had already been taken to a local hospital.
Investigators found that a vehicle stopped near a group of people and someone threw a lit firework into the crowd before the vehicle drove away. The explosion caused severe injuries to a man on the sidewalk, necessitating his transport to Harborview Medical Center.
