A year ago around this time, Matt Arnold became the first Brewers GM to win MLB’s recently established Executive of the Year Award presented by Sage. Now, after Milwaukee’s third straight division title and another year spent bucking preseason projections while on a tight budget, Arnold is the first executive across the sport to win the honor twice.

Arnold, who has been with the Brewers since 2015 and has headed their baseball operations department since the end of ’22, was named 2025 MLB Executive of the Year on Thursday during the GM Meetings in Las Vegas. It’s an especially high honor because it was decided by a vote of executives from all 30 teams prior to the start of the postseason.
