The counting of votes for the Nuapada by-election is underway at Nuapada National College under a three-tier security system. Officials said that 26 rounds of counting will be conducted, with 14 tables arranged to accommodate the counting process for 358 polling booths.

Authorities have ensured that all personnel engaged in the counting have received adequate training. Security arrangements have also been tightened in and around the counting centre to ensure a smooth, fair and transparent process.

The counting will decide the fate of 14 candidates, but a triangular fight is expected between BJP, BJD and Congress. The Nuapada by-election witnessed a voter turnout of over 83 percent, one of the highest recorded in the region.
