An 18-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash Thursday afternoon in Toledo, police said.

Fatima Conteh of the 2800 block of Kendale Drive, was crossing West Central Avenue southbound near Densmore Drive at 4:05 p.m. when she was hit by Latoya Lewis, 44, of the 4100 block of Eastway Street, Toledo police said in a report.

The impact threw Ms. Conteh into the westbound curb lane, where she was then hit by Brandon Ruiz, 21, of the 600 block of East Park.

Ms. Conteh was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. Ms. Lewis, Mr. Ruiz and his passenger were not injured, the report said.

Additional details about the incident were not available Thursday night, but the crash remains under investigation.
