WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG) - A Waterloo man was sentenced to more than two years in prison for illegally possessing ammunition.
45-year-old Nicholas Schubich, of Waterloo, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of ammunition as a felon in August.
Police say Schubich admitted he knew his previous felony conviction made it illegal for him to have ammunition, including a misdemeanor of domestic violence.
In April, police conducted a traffic stop on a car that Schubich was a passenger in. Officers found methamphetamine, marijuana, and a box of ammunition in his backpack.
Schubich will serve three years of supervised release following imprisonment.
