MINNEAPOLIS — Kittson County Central had nearly flipped the game on its head at U.S. Bank Stadium.
As the clock turned to the fourth quarter, the Bearcats were on the precipice of tying, and potentially taking the lead, in a game that was once 27-7.
Hillcrest Lutheran Academy’s Sean Berge, however, put a stop to it. He sat underneath a route and intercepted Eli Peterson with 4:20 left, securing a 27-21 9-player state semifinal victory on Thursday.
“We like to make games interesting," Hillcrest head coach Korey Fry said. "At this stage, it’s survive and advance and today I think we were able to do that."
