New details are coming to light after nine people employed at a Boston car wash were detained by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Nov. 4, sparking backlash.

The president of the Boston University College Republicans, Zac Segal, claimed on social media three days after the arrests that he was the reason ICE agents showed up at the car wash in the first place.

"I've been calling ICE for months on end. This week they finally responded to my request to detain these criminals," Segal posted to his account on X. "As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I've seen how American jobs are being given away to those with no right to be here. Pump up the numbers!"
